These plug-resistant-orifices are designed to replace high pressure steam traps.  The can be used as steam line drains to prevent turbine water induction. These orifice steam traps can prevent cavitation when used downstream of a control valve. Unlike a regular steam trap, these high pressure orifices can not fail closed nor fail open.

These orifices can be used as part of a high-pressure-drop pump recirculation system to prevent valve cavitation, and to prevent water hammer.

When used in multi-stage orifice systems, they eliminate noise, and pipe vibration.

Meet the B400 plug resistant orifice.

This plug resistant orifice is machined from forged, stainless steel bar stock ASME-SA-479-316 SS. The B400 can be flanged, or socket welded with unions or couplings.

The strainer holes are sized to trap particles that might otherwise plug the basic orifice. The design virtually eliminates all the noise, vibration, and erosion for the life of the plant. It is rated for 3675 psig @1000F, OR 2625 psig @ 1050F. There are no flimsy wire cloth strainers to plug or fail.
